AS YOU PREPARE TO VISIT TANZANIA THIS YEAR 2024, HERE IS THE LIST OF FIVE IMPORTANT LEGAL THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WHILE YOU ARE IN TANZANIA.

Hello how are you, hope you are doing great.

Welcome to Tanzania, East Africa the home of highest mountain in Africa, the mountain Kilimanjaro, the land of Ngorongoro crater and Africa Big Fives. Also welcome to our website and our offices too. Today I will guide you on five legal things to be aware of while you enjoy your time at Tanzania. You probably wonder and ask yourself or maybe friends who has already visited Tanzania what stuffs to avoid while enjoy your good time at Tanzania. Good!

If you didn’t also don’t worry, it’s all ok

It’s an order of nature that everywhere there are rules or principles which govern that place and to nations and states they are called laws, a simple word with deep meaning and impact rights!?, ok.

In Tanzania like in any other country in the world there are laws enacted by parliament or passed by competent authorities (depending on the level of its applicability) to control and monitor human affairs.

This laws are from criminal laws to civil laws and they bind every individual person be a human person or legal person an institution for example.

As a tourist you are not left behind these laws also binging you, the government assumes that you know them and you have to follow them otherwise you may face them. Pretty harsh right!?, of cause it work that way all over the world.

To avoid all those dramas and to enjoy your time here in Tanzania this is the list of specific five things to be aware of before you land in Tanzania. And I will mix them both of criminal nature and of civil nature too.

First thing first, don’t enter or try to enter Tanzania without proper documents and permits stating your mission in Tanzania. You may say of cause I know I should have proper papers otherwise I can’t pass through. Yes it’s true you can’t be able to pass through but why risk all your time and money trying to sneaking in? believe me someone somewhere try to figure out how he/she can do this. So don’t try it, your papers should be clear if you came as a tourist or volunteer or whatever mission be clear.

Second, this is for men, guys never date or try to sexually approach a young woman, to be more specific a girl and a school girl. It’s a crime to have sex or trying to have sex with a girl under age of 18 years. Worst enough it’s termed as RAPE – STATUTORY RAPE with a punishment of up to 30 years’ imprisonment. You may wonder how can I know her age she may probably lie to me, yes she can but you shouldn’t approach her first. So never initiate the move and never entertain such a move from her or anyone else.

She may accept to have sex with you willingly and still be termed as rape, you know why? It’s because the government think a minor cannot make such a decision. And if she is a school girl even to have sexual relationship with her it’s a crime under education laws. So beware, you may come as a volunteer and end up in jail my brother.

Thirdly, don’t buy from any dealer or business persons any trophies, animal products and carved toys without see a valid license and permits from the government.

Fourthly, if you saw a business opportunity here in Tanzania, never enter into any transaction without first consult a lawyer. You may end up loose your money or engage yourself in criminal transaction without knowing. You may also contact or office through filling in our online form or call direct to our office.

Lastly in our list is, beware when you want to take a picture or a snap or selfies or doing an online live streaming ask your guide if it’s ok to do it at that place. There are some places which you are not allowed to take pictures or engage in activities of that nature. And if you came as a photographer always carry your papers.

The list is very long but this few may give you a light and don’t hesitate to call or email our office for any clarifications or legal opinion in anything you wish to know about.

So welcome to Tanzania, enjoy your stay in Tanzania and I hope to hear you guys.
